tuesday minus the G

i hate tuesday. i would hate monday, but it doesn't feel real. this weekend i MC'd the cheerexpo at the haifax forum. it was a lot of fun, despite haveing to make announcements every 5 minutes for 10 hours straight. i was happy to represent the bounce and meet a lot of "cheery" people haha, ok. i began to realize that i liked cheer leaders, not in a perverted way or anything like that. but they make me feel nostalgic, i have no idea why. i never had "cheer" friends in school, nor did i have any school spirit. i think i admire the commitment that so many people don't notice. no matter how rough a football game or basketball game can get, there are a buncha pretty girls on the sideline throwing themselves 10+ feet in the air. i don't know if you have ever fallen from that height, but i took a fall from about 5 feet to my side when skating and it really hurt.

male cheerleaders are interesting to me. i don't think anything negative about them, but i am a bit offended by the ones that look like they don't care. i appreciate the enthusiasm of the guys that get into it. they serve quite a purpose, such as being able to throw the ladies higher and some good tumbling to add to the performance. besides, not to sound like a creep, but they get to hang with a bunch of pretty girls.

if you plan on checking out tonight's show, i will have more papa mario's gift cards hooked up and you can vote for your fav tunes on Pump it or Dump it. be a part of the show @ 420-1013, 6p-10p

TV pitchman battered hooker in South Beach hotel room brawl

MARCH 27--Meet Vince Shlomi. He's probably better known to you as the ShamWow Guy, the ubiquitous television pitchman who has been phenomenally successful peddling absorbent towels and food choppers. Shlomi, 44, was arrested last month on a felony battery charge following a violent confrontation with a prostitute in his South Beach hotel room. According to an arrest affidavit, Shlomi met Sasha Harris, 26, at a Miami Beach nightclub on February 7 and subsequently retired with her to his $750 room at the lavish Setai hotel. Shlomi told cops he paid Harris about $1000 in cash after she "propositioned him for straight sex." Shlomi said that when he kissed Harris, she suddenly "bit his tongue and would not let go." Shlomi then punched Harris several times until she released his tongue. The affidavit, a copy of which you'll find here, notes that during the 4 AM fight Harris sustained facial fractures and lacerations all over her face (she is pictured here in mug shots snapped following busts in 2008 and 2005). After freeing his tongue, a bleeding Shlomi ran to the Setai lobby, where security summoned cops. Harris refused to cooperate with officers, who recovered $930 from her purse. "Both parties had a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from their persons," police reported. In a brief telephone interview, Harris declined to answer TSG questions about her run-in with Shlomi, though she did say she is considering a lawsuit against the pitchman. Asked if she worked as a hooker, Harris declined comment. As seen in the below mug shot, Shlomi was also injured during the fracas and, court records show, was treated at Mount Sinai Medical Center. While Shlomi and Harris were both arrested for felony aggravated battery, prosecutors this month declined to file formal charges against the combatants. Police records list Shlomi's occupation as "Marketing," but make no mention of his affiliation with the ShamWow or the Slap Chop, both of which sell for $19.95 (plus shipping and handling).

OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE PERTAINING TO EMINEM'S 'RELAPSE' AND 'RELAPSE 2'

SLIM SHADY IS BACK!! EMINEM?S ?RELAPSE? SET FOR RELEASE MAY 19TH; FOLLOW-UP, ?RELAPSE 2?, COMING BEFORE END OF THE YEAR

SANTA MONICA, CA - March 5, 2009 ? Eminem, the biggest selling music artist of the decade, officially announced the street date of his eagerly awaited new album; his first original studio album in over four years. Relapse (Interscope/ Aftermath/Shady) will be released on May 19, 2009. The first single from the album and its accompanying video will see a simultaneous release on April 7th.

Anticipation for Relapse has been building since the fall, when Eminem first announced the album title and debuted the freestyle, ?I?m Having A Relapse,? during an interview on his Shade 45 satellite radio station. Last month, the release of ?Crack A Bottle? from Eminem, Dr. Dre and 50 Cent brought that anticipation to a head. The track soared to #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 (Eminem?s second #1 after 2002?s ?Lose Yourself?) and set a Nielsen SoundScan record for opening week download sales (418,000). The recording ranked third in the history of all weekly download sales. ?Crack A Bottle? will be included as an album track on Relapse.

With the announcement of the release date for Relapse also comes confirmation of something that had been rumored in recent weeks: Eminem is already working on a follow-up album, Relapse 2, that fans can expect in the second half of 2009. "A lot of people were expecting Relapse to drop last year," said Eminem. "I was one of them. Then Dre and I went back in the studio in September for a few days, and that turned into six months. We were on such a roll; we wound up with a ton of new music produced by Dre. Putting out Relapse 2 will let everyone get all of the best stuff."
Eminem has sold more than 75,000,000 albums worldwide. His previous studio album, Encore, reached #1 and dominated the charts in late 2004. Certified quadruple platinum and spinning off four Top 40 Hot 100 hits, the Grammy-nominated disc has sold more than 11,000,000 copies around the globe. The #1, double platinum, 2005 greatest hits collection, Curtain Call: The Hits and #2, platinum, 2006 various artists compilation, Eminem Presents: The Re-Up, followed. In October 2008, Eminem released "Eminem: The Way I Am", a book compiling thoughts, stories, and memorabilia from various points in his life. The book entered the New York Times Best-Seller list at #11.
